Colour INKspiration Challenge #166

Time for another INKspiration challenge card…

Today I am participating in challenge #166 and I did have to put a little thought into the design.

The colours chosen for this challenge were a little bright for my usual style so I softened them by using Vellum coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

To begin, I coloured vellum using Stampin’ Blends and spritzed a little Isocol Rubbing Alcohol over the panels to give a slight watercoloured effect. When the panels were dry, I then die-cut the flowers from the Translucent Florals Dies. I repeated this step with all four colours.

The larger flower is Melon Mambo, with the smaller flowers being Petunia Pop.

All the leaves are coloured with Lemon Lime Twist with the sprigs coloured with Summer Splash.

To add a some dimension, the Basic White background panel is scored at 1/4”, 1/2” and 3/4” on the left and bottom of the panel, and I adhered two Basic White die-cut stems from the Textured Floral Dies.

To complete the card, I mounted a stamped sentiment and added a few Summer Splash Shimmer Gems.
